ClearlySo named Impact Investment Bank of the Year by Environmental Finance at IMPACT Awards 2020
The ClearlySo team are thrilled to win this prestigious award, which affirms our efforts to back successful, impactful and disruptive businesses and funds, especially in transformative sectors such as energy and the environment.
London, United Kingdom – ClearlySo, Europe’s leading impact investment bank, announced today that it has been named the Investment Bank of the Year by Environmental Finance at their IMPACT Awards 2020. Such an award is especially gratifying in this COVID environment, and the entire team is delighted at this independent recognition of its leadership in the impact space.
Reflecting on the award, Chris Parsons, (co-head of Enterprises) commented that, “The ClearlySo team are thrilled to win this prestigious award, which affirms our efforts to back successful, impactful and disruptive businesses and funds, especially in transformative sectors such as energy and the environment”.
“The sector expertise evidenced by this award is enhanced by a very strong sales team, which focuses on institutional investors across Europe, and understands the impact interests of this group better than anyone”, commented Rod Schwartz (CEO). He added that, “in the past few years, there has been a surge of interest in ‘our sort of company and fund’, especially in the Family Office area, which has been the fastest growing segment of our investor client base. This is unsurprising, as NextGen inheritors are increasingly interested in how the money is being invested—in addition to the returns generated. This has been critical to getting so many deals closed during the challenging second and third quarter of 2020.”
“Although the Energy & Environment sector has been a key aspect of the ClearlySo franchise, highlighted by sizable transactions for clients such Tonik Energy, Bulb Energy and Upside Energy, we have been delighted that one of our other clients, Oddbox (for whom we helped secure £3m in funding earlier this year) was awarded two awards for ‘Impact project/investment of the year’ under two categories: Agriculture & sustainable land use and Pollution & waste management”, noted Theresa Lacey, co-head alongside Chris Parsons. She added, “the impact of what we do is highlighted by the great work of our clients. The more of them we help, the greater our impact. Luckily for us, firms and funds in the sectors we care about: health, education, energy and responsible consumerism are very much of interest to investors these days”.
Congratulations and the best of luck to all the winners, which are being announced today.
