Business Systems, Information & Technology Manager

This is a permanent, full-time position based in ClearlySo’s London office.

ClearlySo is the leading UK financial intermediary in the growing impact investing space. We work exclusively with ventures and funds delivering positive social and/or environmental impact as well as financial return, providing them with corporate finance advice and assisting them in raising investment capital. ClearlySo has advised clients raising over £100m of investment, from a broad network of individual and institutional investors, to help them scale their business. The Role

We are looking for an exceptional Business Systems, Information & Technology Manager who has the skills to dramatically enhance the internal systems and processes at ClearlySo.

Your role will be to plan and deliver an improved system architecture for ClearlySo’s operations. You will quickly gain an understanding of the business and then use your experience to organise systems, processes, information and workflows in a way that transforms our ability to serve our clients. In addition to interacting regularly with all team members, this position has a significant outward-facing role: we are seeking a candidate who can work with the management team to develop a new set of client-facing, digital tools, enabling ClearlySo to better engage with businesses and investors.

The candidate will be a creative and experienced technology lead who can ensure that ClearlySo not only has the tools and systems needed today but is well equipped to adapt and scale into the future. This role is ideal for an ambitious individual with strong core skills

in organisational processes and systems, who has an interest in making a significant difference in a company committed to ensuring financial markets become a force for good in the world.

 

Key activities:

System/Enterprise Architecture Design: Lead development and delivery of improvements to ClearlySo’s systems, processes and use of technology

Stakeholder Management: Work with the entire team to quickly understand ClearlySo and the interactions between our many complex client groups

Process Improvement: Identify key bottlenecks in operational processes and work with the senior team to prioritise projects to improve effectiveness

Technology Project Scoping: Develop projects to address issues facing the business, taking into account cost, technology strategy and impact on the broader team and clients

Project Planning and Communications: Map out project plans and prepare the team for enhancements. Identify potential risk and opportunity areas

Project & Vendor Management: Implement projects, lead on relationships with external providers, keep to budget on cost and time, and ensure quality

Documentation and Reporting: Document all key operational procedures and ensure that all business-critical processes are able to report on KPIs to support management decision-making

Regulatory Requirements: Ensure operational processes are consistent with FCA regulatory requirements and establish related management audit processes

 

Must-haves:

Minimum 5 years experience managing successful technology project implementations for complex organisations

Demonstrated ability to implement systems and processes that make a real difference to business performance

Experience reporting to senior management teams and being accountable for project development, budgeting, execution, and monitoring

Demonstrable experience working with high-performing commercial teams

Sound communication skills and the capacity to interact with clients at many levels

Awareness of current technological solutions and platforms, and experience in third party vendor selection and management

The ambition, energy and resilience to join an entrepreneurial team at the centre of a rapidly growing sector

A willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.

 

Additional strengths:

Previous involvement in the financial services sector, especially with an FCA regulated entity

Experience with Salesforce

Involvement in a high-growth entrepreneurial business

Knowledge/awareness of the impact investment or mainstream investment market in the UK.

 

What we can offer:

Salary within £45,000 – £55,000 range, depending on experience

Stock options after one year of employment, and bonuses based upon firm-wide performance.
