Health and wellbeing
In 1948 the World Health Organisation defined 'health' as 'a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.' Health represents much more than the avoidance of illness: it is also wellbeing. The concept encompasses mental health, nutrition, exercise, hygience, health care, and the social and personal resources of individuals. |
