Social investment pitching

Social investment pitchingSocial investment pitching evenings provide a unique chance to discover some of the best social investment opportunities available.

Our social entrepreneurs have been selected to offer a blend of both financial and social objectives. All offer a compelling investment proposition both financially and socially (see the note at the bottom of the page for legal requirements).

How it works

Each entrepreneur presents their business in 5-7 minutes to the audience, followed by Q&A.  The evening ends with an informal gathering over drinks and food at which you can meet the entrepreneurs in person.

Frequently asked questions

How do we select the social businesses?

We begin by announcing an event to our network. After the deadline we review all applications, which contain the following:

  • A short executive summary of the business.
  • The amount and type of capital sought.
  • A coherent explanation of the use of these funds.
  • Recent financial history.
  • An engaging story, both entrepreneurially and socially.

We then review all of the applications together for quality and to ensure we have an appropriate mix of businesses. Next we put entrepreneurs through an intensive pitch preparation training session before they make their presentations to you.

How much does it cost?

There is no cost for social investors, like yourselves, to attend one of our investmengt events. We'll provide drinks and nibbles for you to enjoy while chatting with the entrepreneurs.

Am I obliged to commit to an investment on the night?

Of course not. If you do not find any suitable investment opportunities then we perfectly understand. However, if you do have an interest, we can help set up follow up meetings with any entrepreneurs who catch your eye. However, we do hope you’ll come to these events with a genuine interest in investing in the right company. Please tell us as much as possible about the type of investment that interests you.

What's the small print?

If you do decide to invest in one of the businesses as a direct result of us introducing them to you, then we charge a 3% commission fee on the capital invested, which the entrepreneur will pay us from the capital they received. Only FSA exempt investors are permitted to attend out investment events. Click here to register.
