Making the Leap: Social Enterprise & the NHS

A half day seminar to provide you with practical advice on how to survive the transition |

This seminar was the third of a series ClearlySo ran in partnership with the Guardian. This half day event focused on the challenges of transition from NHS employee to social enterpreneur. Our excellent speakers delivered practical advice on how to survive beyond the first contract and work toward long term financial viability.
The seminar series was designed to give practical help to early stage public sector spin-outs in an informal, peer-led environment – where social entrepreneurs and former public sector employees share their learnings, warts and all.
The transition of NHS is undergoing a fundamental change which will see core services spun out into social enterprises. If successful, it will save money, improve efficiencies and preserve core services. However, for those spinouts making the transition, the challenge can be daunting – how will they survive beyond their first contract and how can they win the David versus Goliath battle which will surely follow against larger and better funded private sector providers? This seminar will provide invaluable access to those individuals with the experience to help them through the early stages and demystify the daunting prospect of making the leap from NHS employee to social entrepreneur.
