PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has been a strong supporter of ClearlySo, especially the annual conference.

PwC is a major firm providing business and professional services to its clients. It has been at the forefront of the drive towards corporate social responsibility (CSR) and has a considerable track record in helping its clients become more sustainable. The firm has been highly active in the social business and enterprise sector using its skills to help entrepreneurs improve their business skills.

It became the first major corporation to sponsor the conference in 2010 when Ian Oakley Smith and Rachel Taylor shared their expertise on financial management. It was a strong presentation and fitted in perfectly with the overall theme: Back to Basics, Getting the Fundamentals right. A guide, based on their presentation, is available for ClearlySo Members in the Social Enterprise section.

On the social enterprise sector in general, Ian Oakley Smith said that PwC "see it as a major way forward for the country at the moment. PWC is particularly interested in supporting social enterprise by supporting infrastructures that help the environment develop for social enterprises to prosper".

They were back again for the 2011 Conference, as sponsor, with Mark Graham, director at PwC, who delivered a discussion on generating accurate and valuable social impact metrics which will attract investors. Once again it was a timely session and tapped neatly into one of the most pressing themes for social enterprises: how to make themselves more appealing to investors. 

ClearlySo and PwC are continuing to work together on a number of other projects.
