What does it do?

AAbacus offers a variety of routes towards helping young people who have left care progress towards independent living. Its project offers accommodation to those who are 16+; under the age of 18, although ‘looked after’ in terms of legal status, by their relevant local authority and hence not fully responsible as yet, in the eyes of the law. This social enterprise caters for unaccompanied asylum seekers and homeless young people between the ages of 16 and 25 as well as teenage mothers with young children. It also caters for young offenders aged 16.

Aabacus Group is currently using our basic listing service and so has a limited profile on the site.

If you would like to know more about this social business, please email us your request and we will forward it to the right person...hopefully we can persuade them to join us as well!

Cause Community

Cause community is a website where charities and not-for-profit organisations can seek the help, advice and support they need – and where willing volunteers can offer their services. Cause Community’s approach is designed so that skills, knowledge and resources can be exchanged with charities in a simple, flexible and convenient way, from as little as just 10 minutes per week and from the comfort of a computer, meaning that potentially most people in the UK can join in and become part of a national (eventually global) cause-related networking community serving the greater good.
